Welcome to Augusta Bird Control: Prevention and Removal of Unwanted Birds

Our company specializes in resolving problems caused by birds in Augusta, Georgia, both residential and commerical. We handle bird species such as pigeons, starlings, grackles, sparros, and even Canada Geese and woodpeckers. We generally don't kill birds - we prevent them from causing problems. Most commonly, this means that we install barriers that prevent them access to your building or property, or anti-roosting devices that prevent them from landing, nesting, or roosting on your home, store, building, or anywhere. We use netting, needle strips, shock track, and more. We do offer trapping in some cases, and removal of birds from warehouses, grocery stores, or other commerical or industrial buildings by netting or sometimes pellet shooting. We have a wide variety of tools and methods for solving every manner of bird problem. Call us at 706-671-6133 to discuss your bird problem today.

1

Netting

Stop Birds From Accessing Your Space

We stop birds from entering almost any space by installing netting. It is strong and durable, but thin and black so that it is not visually distracting. We can prevent birds from flying or roosting under awnings, roofs, or any other architectural area.

2

Anti-Roosting

Stop Birds From Landing Or Roosting

We install needle strips or shock track on ledges, beams, the tops of signs, and anywhere birds are roosting and causing unsightly and unhealthy droppings. We can reach any area with our ladders and boom lifts.

3

Cleanup

We Clean Droppings and Nesting Material

Birds can make a mess with their droppings - on your building, roof, or the ground, or any other area. Sometimes bird guano and nesting material accumulate. We professionally clean and decontaminate the area.

Should You Use Cats to Get Rid of Pigeons?

Using cats to get rid of pest animals is something that has been common practice for many years, and it was actually believed that cats were first domesticated because of their cunning ability to be able to chase out rats and mice. Unfortunately, cats are now much more domesticated than they were back in those days, and they have less of that chase/kill instinct than they did. What this has led to, is a population of cats that either aren't that bothered by pigeons in the back yard, or just don't want to get involved. We have personally seen cats that are frightened of pigeons and have actually been chased out of the back yard by a feasting flock.

If you do find yourself with a cat that still has that pigeon-play trait, we still wouldn't recommend it. There are a number of diseases present in not just the body of the bird, but also the feces and any material that it could come into contact with, and this makes your cat vulnerable to those diseases. Even if it has been vaccinated as it should be, it won't be protected from the types of bugs and bacteria that this pest bird brings along for the ride. And some of those bugs could actually be deadly, causing the death of your cat and other domesticated pets, especially when not diagnosed and treated early enough.

Although it might seem like a great idea to use your cat as a method of pest bird control and removal, it will usually only work for a short duration, if at all, on top of being potentially quite dangerous. Once the cat goes back inside the property, the pigeons will come back, especially when they start to learn that the cat can't get out of the glass door it's standing behind.

As a final note, we feel that it is also important to remind you that you have no idea what the pigeon has been up to or where it has been before the point at which you clap eyes on it. If that pigeon has been poisoned by someone who lives in the street from you, for example, it could pass that poison on to your cat, causing once again potentially deadly results.
